I am getting better at throwing pottery. PotterHEAD! Get it? Potterphile! Potter... erm, yeah.

Anyways.

I was -and still am- extremely pissed that the Two Towers DVD is coming out August 26th. How DARE they make us wait so long?? It's almost two weeks later than last year's release date. It also means that I will be forced to buy the DVD in Hong Kong, making it a third more expensive than it needs to be. It also means that I will have to go out and buy it on a different day than the release date, maybe on the weekend, because SCHOOL STARTS ON THAT DAY!!

Stupid New Line Cinema, with all your corporate bigness and bureaucracy and occasional bad!movie.

I'm not even entirely sure it will come out August 26th in Hong Kong.

Now addressing some issues on my mind aside from LOTR: Liberia.

They beg for US peacekeepers to come in. It's an open door! Perfectly justified! Answer the call for help! They take so long to decide they want to send in troops. Nigeria beat them to it. Nigeria! A country poorer and smaller in size, faster than them. Imagine that!

Maybe it's reverse psychology. You know, you tell someone not to cry and they do, and if you tell them to cry they don't? Exactly what's happening here. Liberia tells them to come in. They take a looong ass time. Iraq's malevolent dictator warns them to stay out. They don't, they go in without UN permission.

But wait! There's another reason as well. Liberia doesn't have any resources the US wants, whereas Iraq had oil. They WANT that oil. They say, "Weapons of mass destruction!" so many times it becomes a mantra, their war cry. Afterwards it alters to become, "Saddam Hussein is a bad man!" when they find no major weapons of mass destruction. If their original mantra had been, "Saddam is a bad man!" then I wouldn't be ranting now. Honestly, do they think the world falls for the 'weapons of mass destruction' crap? Apparently they do, or hope beyond all hope that they do.

But let me tell you: The world does not forget. Nor does it forgive. It just goes sort of unspoken.

Hope that the Nigerian peacekeepers help.
